Having taught at Staines Prep for in excess of thirty years and as Headmaster since 1998 it has been an absolute joy to see how the School has developed whilst still retaining its fundamental ethos that happy, confident children do best.

When I walk around the School, I see children who are clearly thriving; they try their best and are keen to learn; they are well-behaved, friendly and celebrate each others successes. I see staff, both teaching and support, who are devoted to the well-being of the children. I see some excellent lessons delivered through both traditional and modern means. In addition, we have highly supportive parents and a Governing Body that has a real empathy with the School with a clear vision for the future. All of these put together form a recipe for success and we were delighted by our recent ISI Inspection Report which emphasised the quality of our school.

Staines Prep pupils have a fine record in competitive 11+ examinations for both grammar and local independent schools. However, we believe in providing a wide range of opportunities for all of the children through our regular curriculum and extra curricular activities. The children’s successes in these areas help to build their confidence and self-esteem.

Recently, several other Heads have expressed to me their amazement at how we are able to achieve such high standards bearing in mind our competitive fee levels, which even include the costs of residential trips in the upper part of the School.
