The Science curriculum is exciting, practical and very relevant to life, which enthuses the children. It begins in the Nursery and Reception where it is introduced as part of Knowledge and Understanding of the World. As the children progress through Key Stage 1, and beyond, topics are expanded so that later knowledge builds upon earlier investigations.
Throughout the School the focus is on children conducting experiments for themselves, making observations and drawing their own conclusions which they present in a variety of ways. In Years 4 - 6 pupils are taught by a science specialist in the fully equipped laboratory and the experiences gained here enable them to use with confidence equipment usually encountered in the first year of Secondary education. ICT equipment is used for data logging investigations, research projects and microscopic work.
