The Friends of Staines Prep

The Friends was set up in 1989 and the commitee is comprised of a group of volunteer parents who come together to fundraise by organising a range of social and fundraising events. All parents and members of the school community can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available. Many of the people who were Committee members years ago, still help us out in a number of ways today.

We are looking for volunteers to join the Friend Committee and/or help at events (specifically with catering, purchasing supplies, refreshments, marketing and fundraising, technical and props). If you would like to become a volunteer please click here for more info.

As in most schools, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Some of our most popular events are:

  • Fireworks
  • Fayres
  • Quiz Night
  • Children’s Discos
  • Ferret Racing
  • Fashion shows

We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all our children across all areas of the school and curriculum, that way you can be sure that in supporting The Friends every child will feel the benefit. In the past, we have provided:

  • Playground equipment
  • The school mini-bus
  • Sound and lighting equipment for the school hall
  • Environmental area
  • Books for the school library

Thanks to the generous support of all our parents!
