Upper School
|
The School day is extended as the children enter Year 3 in order to further broaden the curriculum and to accommodate the transition into Key Stage 2.
At the end of Year 3 all of the children are formally assessed in Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics and the classes realigned as they move into Year 4 to ensure that each child is working with children of similar abilities. In Years 4-6 all subjects are taught by specialists and Latin/Classical Studies is introduced in Year 5 to broaden the curriculum further. Throughout their final three years at SPS the children move from room to room, providing valuable experience and enabling a smoother transition into a similar system in their secondary education. |
