Service in Memory of The Papa India Aircraft Disaster on 18th June 1972
18th June 2008
The School Choir took part in the Commemorative Service held at St Mary’s Church for the Papa India Aircraft Disaster, which took place on that date in 1972 and remains the worst aircraft accident to happen in British history. The service was overseen by Fr Rod Cosh and there were readings by the Mayor of Spelthorne, Councillor Simon Bhadye, and Frances Castledine MBE with the sermon by Rev Rachma Bush and prayers led by Captain Mike Bannister, our Chairman of Governors. As ever, it was a moving service and the Choir performed All Things Bright and Beautiful and The 'Gaelic Blessing' by Rutter quite beautifully.
