Here Come the Vikings!

All of Year 4 travelled back in time to discover what it was like to be a Viking when they spent the day at Chertsey Museum.
On arrival the children all dressed up as Vikings and then settled down to make themselves their own Viking Sword. Later there was a tour of the Abbey, where we learnt about life for the monks who lived there in the 7th - 9th centuries. After lunch we were all terrified when a Viking Warrior arrived wearing his full armour and carrying his weapons. Fortunately he turned out to be ‘friendly’ and told us all about his life and let us try on more costumes.
