New Term Brings New Faces ...3rd September 2008 The new term sees three new faces on the staff of Staines Prep, the long-established, co-educational preparatory school in Gresham Road.Year 4 and 5 pupils can count themselves lucky with the appointment of experienced educator Rachel Walden as maths coordinator. The position marks a welcome return to the area where she was brought up, following eight years at outer London primary schools in roles including science and ICT, and as head of year. Year 1 children will enjoy an active time with sporty new class teacher Lisa Morris who joins the staff, having returned to the UK following a two-year appointment in Milan. Bi-lingual Lisa, who has a Welsh father and Italian mother, is a keen sportswoman, with close connections to the London Welsh RFC. She worked as both a Year 1 teacher and PE specialist for a wider age group in Italy. Natasha Tait has joined as the school’s new registrar and marketing coordinator handling admissions and will run all open days for prospective parents. She comes with a background in graphic and book design as well as being responsible for online marketing campaigns. Communicating with children via graphic art, she designed the Mind Maps for Kids series of books by Tony Buzan, for publisher HarperCollins. Natasha’s daughter Lily, aged four, has also joined the school in the Reception class. “Lily absolutely loves it at the school and has started making friends already,” says Natasha. “I thrive in the knowledge that my child is well cared for at Staines Prep whilst I’m at work just across the playground!” |
