Candlelit Carols Bring Festive Cheer for Staines Pupils8th December 2008 Christmas started in earnest for Staines Prep School on Monday evening as children from Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed their annual Carols by Candlelight service in the beautiful setting of St. Peter’s Church in Laleham Road, Staines. The children and the School’s choir were joined by parents, governors and staff in singing a variety of favourite traditional carols in the packed church. Seasonal readings were given by Reverend Cosh, headmaster Peter Roberts, deputy headmaster Malcolm Amiss and head boy Ira-Jeet Shokar (11). Reverend Cosh thanked the School for their generous donation of £200 raised at the end of the service from the sale of prayer baubles to decorate the Church Christmas tree. The proceeds will go towards the purchase of creative resources for the "Messy Church" groups run for children, aged four to eight, across the parish. |
