We love our Mummies!

5th February 2010

As part of their History studies on ancient Egypt, Year 3 children learnt the skills involved in mummification. Stanley A volunteered to become a Pharaoh and his fellow pupils took on various roles as embalmers and priests. He looked splendid, when finally he was wrapped in bandages and wearing his magnificent death mask. Traditionally the Ancient Egyptian pharaohs also mummified their pets. The children practised their skills and mummified a soft toy. They all agreed it had been a very tricky task!
