Anti-Bullying Week

This week, we have participated in the Anti Bullying Alliance’s ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ which centred around this year’s important theme: Choose Respect.

On Monday, our School Council successfully delivered an assembly to the whole school, explaining the significance of this year’s theme and reminding our pupils of the appropriate actions they should take if they witness unkind behaviour.

During the assembly, the School Council also took the opportunity to recognise the support of our staff members, whom they nominated for an award from the Anti-Bullying Alliance.

In Lower School, children read a story called ‘All Are Welcome’ and discussed how everyone is different, and that we should celebrate and respect each other’s differences. The children also revisited what to do if they feel upset about something that has happened.

In our Upper School PSHE lessons, the children participated in the BBC Live Lesson with ‘Hacker The Dog’. This interactive session allowed our pupils to engage with a series of tasks designed to deepen their understanding of bullying and encourage them to support one another.
