Yesterday, was National Poetry Day and to celebrate this we held our annual poetry competition, inviting children from Years 3 to 6 to represent their Houses by reciting a poem to their peers and families. The judges were impressed by the children’s confidence, clarity and expression during their wonderful performances.
Congratulations to the following pupils who were chosen as the winners for their year group:
Additionally, on Tuesday, a group of KS2 pupils participated in a trip to the local Daybreak Respite Care Group for the national ‘Poetry Together’ initiative. This experience allowed the children to perform and listen to poems alongside elderly members of our community. The children were wonderful ambassadors for our school and
demonstrated our SPS way values. It was lovely to see the joy their performances brought to our local elderly residents.
