On Thursday 23rd November, we launched the SPS Sports Awards. Our motto ‘Striving, Perseverance and Sporting Spirit’ is a collaboration with our House Captains and pupil body, and we are extremely proud of them for developing such a great set of values.
The awards ceremony opened with 4 performances from our newly formed gymnastics team. They performed a brilliant display, wowing the audience with their skills learnt. We wish them the very best of luck in their upcoming tournament.
Our congratulations go to our logo winner, Sienna P (Year 5), who designed our new logo which will be used in conjunction with all things sport.
We also celebrated the wonderful achievements of our netballers and footballers this term and our lucky recipients were:

This culminated in our cup winners from Year 6, who received the following cups for outstanding contribution to their sport.
At the end of each term, we will be recognising 2 players from each year group and sport to award a certificate. In the spring our focus will be Hockey and Rugby and in the summer Cricket.
Moving forwards, we will also be nominating a child or team weekly for Striving, Perseverance and Sporting Spirit based on their PE or Games lessons and this will be announced in the bulletin. Finally, thank you to all parents who give up their time to watch their children play in school fixtures or enable their children to be involved in sport outside of school.
