SPS Musicians visit Bedales

On Thursday 1st February, Mrs Pearce and I took 12 of our Year 6 musicians on a very special trip to Bedales School in Hampshire. Pupils took part in a singing workshop before joining either the orchestra or guitar and djembe ensemble, which featured pupils from other schools as well as teacher and pupil musicians from Bedales. After a delicious lunch, we were treated to a sneak peak of the legendary Bedales Rock Show, with front row seats in their fabulous theatre.

The children worked very hard during the day to prepare songs and pieces to present in an afternoon concert. It was an incredibly inspirational opportunity, and I am very grateful to Mrs Pearce for accompanying us on the trip and for driving the minibus. Our pupils were fabulous ambassadors to the school, and I am grateful for the support of parents at home for giving your child the gift of instrumental music lessons.
