Staines Bridge Art Project

On Monday 16th October, some Year 6 pupils enjoyed an art workshop at SPS with visiting artist Saroj Patel. This is part of an initiative run by Visit Staines to encourage local children to have a vision for the future and consider what environmental and recreational facilities they would like Staines to have for the next generation.

Our artists came up with some imaginative suggestions such as cascading plant buildings, colourful fountains, activity filled art museums and galleries, multi-coloured paths, themed relaxation environments, pet-friendly areas, hover board and flying chair transport.

Ideas were sketched and painted and will form part of a display in Staines. The resident artist, Saroj Patel, will use the children’s ideas from these workshops, to create a vision for Staines that will decorate the railway bridge by the Mercure Hotel. The decorated railway bridge should be completed by spring 2024.

More photographs from the workshop can be found here.
