We are thrilled to share the success of our recent school-wide Mathematics Competition, a vibrant event that brought together pupils across all year groups. Our dedicated young mathematicians from Years 1 & 2, 3 & 4, and 5 & 6 dove headfirst into the competition which offered challenge, collaboration, and, most importantly, fun!
The competition was designed to inspire and engage our pupils, allowing them to showcase their problem-solving skills and mathematical prowess. Working in small teams, they tackled a series of stimulating mathematical problems and puzzles, each tailored to their key stage to ensure that the challenges were both appropriate and stimulating.
In the Lower Prep Competition for Years 1 & 2, our youngest participants demonstrated incredible teamwork, using their foundational maths skills to explore patterns, shapes, and numbers in new and exciting ways. Their enthusiasm and determination were a joy to witness.
The Upper Prep Competition was split into six exhilarating rounds for Years 3 & 4 and 5 & 6. These older students were presented with more complex problems that required not only a solid grasp of mathematical concepts but also creative thinking and strategic collaboration.
The air buzzed with excitement as teams huddled together, discussing strategies and solutions, proving that mathematics is not just a solitary pursuit but a collaborative endeavour. The competition highlighted the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and the joy of solving problems together.
We are incredibly proud of all the participants for their hard work, enthusiasm, and the sportsmanship they displayed throughout the competition.
A huge congratulations to the following winning teams:
