Thursday 5th October was National Poetry Day when people across the country come together to share and experience the power of a poem! To celebrate, yesterday we held our annual SPS Poetry Competition. Sixteen children from Years 3 to 6 recited their poems to an excited audience of parents and children.
Congratulations to all of our finalists and a special well done to the winners for each year group:
Year 3:
Year 4:
Year 5:
Year 6:
Some of our Year 6 Prefects have also been sharing their poems with the younger children. Amaya, Harry and Kaavya visited the Reception, Year 1 & 2 classes to read them some of their favourite poems.
