We are seeking an organised and proactive HR & Payroll Assistant to support the smooth running of all HR, payroll and compliance functions across the school. This varied role involves recruitment administration, staff records, payroll support, safeguarding compliance and employee benefits, helping to ensure an efficient and supportive working environment for all staff.


Are you a professional, organised and personable HR & Payroll Assistant wanting to join our friendly and supportive team? This is a varied and rewarding role, responsible for supporting all aspects of human resources, payroll administration and staff compliance within a busy independent preparatory school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Bursar and senior leadership team to manage recruitment processes, maintain personnel records, oversee safeguarding and safer recruitment checks, coordinate staff training records and support the monthly payroll process. The role also includes pension and benefits administration, policy updates, payroll reporting and responding to staff queries with professionalism and discretion.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information sensitively. Previous HR or payroll experience is essential, and experience within an independent school environment would be advantageous.
