Year 1 Victorian Day

On Wednesday, Year 1 went back in time to the Victorian times to have a taste of what life was like for a Victorian child. They came to school dressed up in Victorian clothes and were met by their strict Victorian teachers!

They learnt that boys and girls had to line up separately and that boys always went first. The children tried using chalkboards to do their arithmetic and quill pens with ink to do handwriting. We even made Victorian jam tarts as a treat and dolly-peg angels for the Christmas tree!

A brilliant day was had by all, but we were relieved to get back to 2024!
