Year 4 Trip to Runways End

The pupils in Year 4 had a wonderful few days away at Runway’s End, Aldershot. The weather was certainly on our side, with beautiful weather as we travelled on canoes and home built rafts down the Basingstoke Canal. Most of the groups kept safe and dry, although Mrs Kennedy’s group did have ‘a dip’ at the end of their session.

The activities were plentiful, from caving to archery, climbing and shelter building, it was non-stop from morning till night. We even staged a well-loved Staines Prep’s Got Talent and were entertained by magicians, singers (including Opera) and dancers!

It was the food that got a lot of praise from the children. Our Chef Dom certainly knew how to please a hungry crowd; so cooked breakfasts, pastries, pancakes, fruit, and cereal filled our tummies as we set off in the mornings. On our return pasta, pizza, chicken and much more kept us all happy!

It was sad to leave but the children will have gained many valuable skills and made memories for life!
