Year 6 pupils spent the day ‘off timetable’ today to participate in leadership training. The children took part in a range of activities to identify and develop the qualities and skills that are demonstrated by good activities.
Year 6 engaged in thoughtful discussions about the traits that are demonstrated by good leaders and how they exemplify these. Theory was put into practice when the children tested out their communication and team-work skills in a series of cooperative challenges. It was great to see Year 6 working together in groups to problem solve and achieve success. Following this, the children explored how they could utilise some of these skills as leaders at SPS – with a particular focus on how they can support the younger children at the school and be positive role models for them.
The Year 6 pupils are now looking forward to applying what they have learned as they begin serving as ‘Buddies’ during lunchtimes next week!
